Objectives

Project Objectives:

The project aimed to improve the learning environment in the most remote and underserved areas of Raymah Governorate, thereby supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals related to education. Additionally, it sought to foster the development of an educated generation within rural communities, with a particular emphasis on promoting girls’ education. Furthermore, the project worked to mobilize and raise awareness among local communities about the importance of education for all children, especially females.

 

 

Outcomes

Key Deliverables:

The key activities and deliverables included the construction of 15 new classrooms to expand learning spaces. Additionally, there was the renovation and refurbishment of 16 existing classrooms to improve learning conditions. Moreover, the project involved the procurement and supply of 150 school chairs to enhance classroom seating, as well as the supply of 28 whiteboards to facilitate interactive teaching. To ensure reliable electricity supply, three solar energy systems were installed. Furthermore, 345 school bags packed with basic student stationery were distributed to students.

The project also provided financial incentives to 69 teachers to motivate and retain quality educators, while distributing financial stipends to 8 community awareness volunteers and facilitators. In addition, community engagement campaigns were implemented to promote the importance of education and encourage enrollment, especially for girls. To improve access to clean water, eight water tanks, each with a capacity of 1500 liters, were supplied and installed. The project further included the construction of six sanitation facilities and the renovation of four existing toilets to enhance hygiene standards.

To secure the school premises, a perimeter fence, including a 23-meter gate, was erected. Moreover, three administrative offices were constructed to support school management. Finally, there was an increase in enrollment of children and girls, with efforts made to recover dropouts and promote continuous attendance.
