In the high mountains of Kusmah District, located in Yemen’s Raymah Governorate, the land wasn’t just waiting for rain — it was waiting for an opportunity. There, where determination meets perseverance, Mariam Mansour began her journey with greenhouse farming — a journey that became more than just an agricultural project; it became a small dream turned into an inspiring reality. Through the “Economic Empowerment: Greenhouse Farming” program, implemented by (AGF) with generous funding from (UNFPA), Mariam joined the training sessions and received her empowerment kit, which included a greenhouse, water tanks, various agricultural supplies, seeds, and seedlings. With a heart full of hope, she was ready to change her reality — not only for herself but for her family and their future. Despite the daily hardships she faces, Mariam remained committed to her new path. She followed the agricultural guidance carefully, tended to her plants with love, and watched them grow — as if watching her dream take shape, leaf by leaf. In time, Mariam harvested her very first crop of cucumbers, and with each fruit she picked, her belief grew stronger: she could, indeed, transform her life, no matter the challenges or circumstances. Today, Mariam stands as a living example of the power women hold when given the chance and the support they deserve. She is now well on her way to achieving self-sufficiency and boosting her family’s income through the produce of her greenhouse. We are proud of her, and we believe her story is only the beginning — one of many inspiring stories yet to be told.
